i know. i know.

see i had great. intentions. with this blog.

but sometimes life takes your hand and leads you in directions that are so new and distracting that you have a hard time fulfilling your original plan.

forgive. me. please.

what exactly is my plan you ask?

well. to inspire.  whatever that takes.

i have found that bringing inspiration to women - - in turn heals my soul.

so don't think for one moment that i am standing tall as the "all knowing" one.

that is not the case - not one bit.

i am searching just like everyone else.

starving for happiness, fulfillment, purpose.

and all those things are at hand the moment i start writing, sharing, creating.

do you find the same thing?

falling in love with life really is the key to that happiness.  as it is. no matter what.

ok.
so.

i was going to do the "SIMPLE SCRAPBOOK" challenge that Latisha is hosting.

while i was searching through my pictures i found my journal.

i wanted to share. this.

by me.

risking wearing my heart on my sleeve....here it goes.

".....when asked what they want in life, most people will tell you that they just want to be happy.  the problem lies in the criteria.  i will be happy when.....if only we realized that happiness is simply a conscious CHOICE.  it is not set aside for the rich, or the beautiful, or the fulfilled  - it is plain and simply an emotion that anyone can access at anytime - regardless of circumstances.  this statement will pose some opposition.  people say - how can i be happy when....i am broke. i am sick. i am lost. - life offers up all these challenges.  happiness eludes those who don't seek it out.  i will be the first to admit that for a very long time i was NOT a "seeker of happiness". drama seemed to bring me more attention.  as the months have passed.  i have done some soul searching and in that search my most treasured find IS MY HAPPINESS.  my mornings start with thoughts of gratitude and in those thoughts my heart is happy.  NOBODY can take that away.  it is mine for the taking and i intend to take it in HUGE quantities.  it is a strange phenomenon, to realize this.  but i am not going to question it......happiness....who knew it could be that simple.

"The world is a great mirror.  It reflects back to you what you are.  If you are loving, if you are friendly, if you are helpful, the world will prove loving, friendly and helpful to you.  The WORLD is what YOU are.

Wonderful.. so wonderful. I agree with all u wrote. Happiness is a choice..no matter what is going on.. it's a conscious decision.. to be happy.. even tho trying times may be staring u in the face. It's that happiness, that hope.. that gets you to the other side. xo love you xo

LOVE this! I've always believed that 'happiness' is a feeling or emotion -- which can be swayed based upon your circumstances. However - JOY comes from your soul. It is a decision - a way of being despite what life has dealt to you. You have joy, girl!!! And that is something that FAR exceeds an emotion. :)

OH, this is just PERFECTION Angela...so true...our happiness is all up to us, therefore we can never hurt others...they have triggers inside them that bring up the hurt feelings, simple as that....it's interesting for me to hear when people say "but I don't want to hurt their feelings". If they only understood that everyone is responsible for their own feelings...wouldn't that make their life much easier?? Love it, girlie...keep posting!!!!!

This is GREAT stuff :) No matter what life throws at you, I truly believe that it is up to each one of us to CHOOSE our attitude...and not let the circumstance choose our attitude for us. There IS HAPPINESS in every single aspect of our lives...we just have to open our eyes, ears, hearts and souls to be aware of it! LOVE YA!

All so true! I had a poster on my bedroom wall when I was a teen (only 1 allowed, ha) I don't remember it exactly but... Happiness is like a butterfly, the more you chase it, the more it will elude you. Let it be and it will come and softly sit on your shoulder.

Thanks so much for sharing! I try to tell my 4 year old daughter every day that she should "choose to be happy." She is having a tough time right now, and is really rebellious (in a 4 year old sense.) She hasn't quite got it yet that being happy is a choice, but I hope that some day it "clicks."

I just happened across your blog while looking at all the Unity yumminess...and I have to say, COME BACK to us! You have lots of important stuff to share! This entry was the perfect example. I think for me, I would substitute the word "joy" for "happiness," but all the same - I have JOY in my heart, in my soul, NO MATTER my circumstances! For me, it's b/c of my faith, b/c of my beliefs, for someone else, it may be b/c it's just how they choose to live their life - but the bottom line is - it's not anything EXTERNAL that will bring it to us. I just spent an AWESOME weekend with Donna Downey using lots of Unity goodness, and am so excited to start expanding on my creative side...so come back. Inspire me some more! :)

My favorite quote is . . .
Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed. Happiness is a spiritual experience living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.

This falls right in line with what you are saying . . . Thanks for sharing!
